Trusty BoulevarDog Takes Ill
On our regular morning short walk today, the Trusty BoulevarDog became suddenly ill. She slowed down to the canine equivalent of a crawl, and looked quite tired and unhappy. She made it home (very slowly) and went immediately to rest, foregoing breakfast. She is now in the care of the good Dr. Schuchman at Boulevard Pet Hospital. As the situation becomes clearer, Your Boulevardier will post updates.

The Trusty BoulevarDog has a mass of some sort on her spleen, and has some internal bleeding. She will undergo abdominal surgery this evening.
I hope that the Trusty BoulevarDog makes a full recovery.
Late night follow-up: she made it through the surgery successfully, but a large tumor was found on her spleen. The tumor had perforated and she had bled internally; that was probably what happened during our walk this morning. The tumor, and the spleen, have been removed, and Dr. Schuchman did not see any tumors on other organs. It is not yet known whether the tumor is malignant, but (for now) the good news is that she is okay.
One of my trusty canine companions has a spleen problem too. His spleen is located in the wrong spot. We have to be careful because he is an extremely active dog and it causes him pain on occasion. Then he must be crated until the pain goes away. There is no long term cure for this problem but he'll live a long and happy life in any case.
My heart goes out to you and your trusty dog. I'll think positive thoughts. I'm certain you'll be back on your boulevard walks in a week.
I'm glad that The Trusy BoulevarDog has made it through surgery. I'm she'll make a quick a full recovery.
I just discovered your blog & am sorry to see this as the first post. Dr. Schuchman is the best vet; all my pets go to see him. I wish Trusty BoulevarDog a full recovery, she is in good hands.
