Shred Day Coming Soon

No, the headline on this post does not refer to the new skate park. Instead, it is good news for people, like Your Boulevardier, who have a paper problem: that is, we keep too much of it, for too long and for no good reason.

On Saturday, July 11, the Castro Valley Sanitary District will participate in a document shredding event at Canyon Middle School. Residents are invited to bring up to ten (ten!) so-called "banker's boxes" of papers to the event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for secure destruction.

This gives us two weeks to clear out those old filing cabinets. Electronic waste, batteries, and old paint can be disposed of at the same event. More information can be found on the Castro Valley Sanitary District website.

As a Castro Valley resident I would like to thank you for your informative and often time entertaining blogs! Had I not stumbled into you while searching for the answer to “why” they closed the Castro Valley W/B I-580 on-ramp many months ago I would not have known you were out here in the ethers of cyberspace. And had you not blogged about a vet’s new clock I would not have found the most caring doctor & staff for my little buddy, Petey. And had you not blogged about our new garbage cans I would be the less aware about the “how” of it all, and had you not just blogged about the shredding day I’d be stuck taking my ten boxes of old documents to a Berkeley company that charges $10 per box or they’d still be on the side of my house where they’ve been since April! Thank you, Mr. Castro Valley Boulevardier! I owe ya at least a cuppa Joe!
